Seminar Constructive Function Theory
Organizers: Leokadia Białas-Cież, Mirosław Baran, Tomasz Beberok
The seminar was established at the Institute of Mathematics of the Jagiellonian University within the Chair of Approximation Theory. However, over the past several years it operated outside the Jagiellonian University: first at the Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Agriculture in Krakow, and then at the Institute of Mathematics of the Commission of National Education University of Krakow (formerly the Pedagogical University of Krakow). As of 1 October 2025, the seminar has returned to the Institute of Mathematics of the Jagiellonian University.
The seminar covers recent developments in Constructive Function Theory, with a focus on:
  • polynomial interpolation and approximation,
  • potential theory and pluripotential theory,
  • various extremal functions and capacities,
  • orthogonal polynomials and special functions,
  • polynomial inequalities,
  • selected topics in numerical analysis, complex analysis and dynamics, as well as optimization.
